The Teflon packing set is designed to wear as the tool is used; we utilized 1/4 industrial grade Teflon resistant to chemicals and heat. Additionally, as the Teflon wears, it provides lubrication. When replacing, be sure one packing is placed between the tool housing before reinserting the shaft (this avoids metal on metal contact).
