The Borit 5 inch Backreamer bit can be used after initial drilling with the 2 or 3 inch bit and used for clearing a run for easier pipe insertion. It is manufactured in the United States and designed to back ream through most soils with ease.

When Using the 5 inch Backreamer you must first drill through with the 2 or 3 inch bit. After you have drilled through remove the bit used and attach the 4 3/4 inch Backreamer and pull it back through. Please review the Borit Pre-Use Instructions for more information.
Great for boring under sidewalks and driveways. We used this on a 20' pipe run under a driveway, with 4" diameter pipe.
Love the idea of a cost effective way to drill under a 20ft driveway. We started 18" under the concrete with an initial 2" coring bit and a 1/" Milwaukee industrial drill and that worked well, but attempting to enlarge the hole with the back reamer did not work for two reasons. 1.The boring unit would not stay in the drill chuck with the back pressure. 2. We have clay with small rocks and the bit kept bouncing off the small rocks and not progressing - only got about two feet. Different soils might have a different outcome. Ultimately tried a forward drilling 5" bit and that could not handle this type of soil either. The fins on this bit do not seem to be hardened and the rocks created a lot of wear. It this is going to be successful for you it seems it will only work with softer soil.
Was not able to use as job was cancelled. Will save for a future job.
Used to bore under 16’ driveway in sandy Florida soil. The sandy nature of our soil gave us challenges but we could not have overcome them without this. Phone support was top notch and delivery was supper fast. Thanks so much.
It was rough, but was able to drill under a 23’ driveway with the 2” bit and then back team with a 5” bit. It took about 9 hours all together and because of how much rock I hit, I was afraid to try and push a 4” PVC pipe through. Went with 3” SCH40 and it sledge hammered through relatively easy. Great product!
